***ATTENTION VOTERS***

 

BECAUSE THE RSU #13 DISTRICT-WIDE BUDGET MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 25, 2023 AT 6:00 P.M. IN THE OCEANSIDE HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM, ABSENTEE BALLOTS FOR THE JUNE 13, 2023 RSU #13 BUDGET VALIDATION REFERENDUM ELECTION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL MAY 26, 2023.  ABSENTEE BALLOT MUST BE REQUESTED BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON THURSDAY, JUNE 8, 2023 AND RETURNED TO THE CLERK’S OFFICE NO LATER THAN 8:00 P.M. ON ELECTION DAY, JUNE 13, 2023, TO BE COUNTED.

BEGINNING JUNE 9, 2023, ONLY VOTERS WITH ONE OF THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES ARE ABLE TO REQUEST AN ABSENTEE BALLOT:

  • The voter has an UNEXPECTED absence from the municipality during the entire time that the polls are open;
  • The voter is physically unable to vote at the polls due to a physical disability;
  • The voter is unable to travel to the polls because the voter is a resident of a coastal island ward or precinct; or
  • The voter is unable to leave home or a treatment facility due to an illness or incapacity.

TO REQUEST AN ABSENTEE BALLOT, CALL THE CITY CLERK’S OFFICE AT (207) 594-0304 AND SPEAK TO A CLERK, COME TO THE OFFICE AT 270 PLEASANT STREET AND PICK ONE UP, OR PRINT OFF AN APPLICATION AND SUBMIT IT TO THIS OFFICE.  ABSENTEE BALLOTS CANNOT BE REQUESTED VIA EMAIL OR BY LEAVING A MESSAGE AT THE OFFICE.
